Slab intentConcrete slab volume calculator
Use this page when you need a slab-specific volume estimate for a patio, floor, or small concrete pad. The math is area multiplied by thickness.
Best for
- Patios
- Garage slabs
- Small floor pours
Worked example
A 6 m by 4 m slab at 150 mm thickness
A simple rectangular slab gives a direct cubic-meter result, then a waste allowance can be added for ordering.
Example
6 m × 4 m × 0.15 m = 3.6 m3. With 7 percent waste, the adjusted order volume is 3.85 m3.
Formula
Volume = length × width × thickness
Adjusted volume = volume × (1 + waste / 100)
How to use it
When to use this page
Simple slab
Use the outer dimensions and the slab thickness to get a clean volume estimate.
Edge thickening
If the slab has a thickened edge, split the shape into sections and add them together.
Ordering note
Add a small waste factor if the pour is awkward or the formwork is not perfectly regular.
