Aggregate mass
Convert volume to mass using supplier bulk density entered from the exact current product information.
How to use this calculator
How to measure
Obtain source volume first, then copy bulk density—with its unit and material condition—from the current supplier document. Do not substitute a generic gravel value.
Worked example
2 m³ at a supplier bulk density of 1,500 kg/m³ is 3,000 kg net. A 10% allowance adds 300 kg, giving 3,300 kg or 3.3 t.
Formula and method
Net mass = source volume × supplier bulk density. Planned mass = net mass × (1 + allowance ÷ 100). Results show kilograms and tonnes, with approved imperial presentation available.
Assumptions
- Bulk density is supplied by the user for the exact material and condition.
- Volume and density describe compatible bulk states.
Limitations
- No universal gravel, sand or crushed-stone density is embedded.
- No moisture, voids, compaction, transport mass or truck count.
FAQ
Which density should I use?
Use the current supplier bulk density for the exact product and stated condition.
Why can delivered mass differ?
Moisture, grading and measured bulk state can differ; this calculator applies only your entered density.
