EPS lambda: read the product value
EPS has no single universal lambda. The Polish Austrotherm EPS 038 FASADA SUPER page gives λD ≤ 0.038 W/(m·K). This declared limit belongs to that product, not every white or graphite EPS board. Check the actual board's declaration rather than choosing from its colour or family name.

Check before using λ
- Record the exact product, market, density or thickness and document revision.
- Distinguish declared λD from the design value for the intended moisture and temperature. Unit conversion does not perform this correction.
- Confirm thickness in metres and use the same material conditions throughout the calculation.
From lambda to layer R
R [m²·K/W] = d [m] / λ [W/(m·K)]
At an illustrative 100 mm and λ = 0.038 W/(m·K), R = 0.10 / 0.038 ≈ 2.632 m²·K/W. The declared limit λ ≤ 0.038 implies R ≥ 0.10 / 0.038 for that thickness and the same declared conditions. The displayed 2.632 is rounded; this is not a converted design value.
| d [m] | λ [W/(m·K)] | R [m²·K/W] |
|---|---|---|
| 0.10 | ≤ 0.038 | ≥ 0.10 / 0.038 (≈ 2.632) |
Interpretation and source limits
White or graphite colour does not establish this EPS value. A board's declared conductivity also does not select its fire performance, strength, installation system or design moisture correction.
