How to use this calculator

How to measure

Measure finished width and depth for a rectangular column, or finished diameter for a circular column, plus the full concrete height. Count only identical elements in one calculation.

Worked example

Four circular columns, 1 m diameter and 2 m high, contain 6.283 m³ net. A 5% allowance adds 0.314 m³, so the order volume is 6.597 m³.

Formula and method

Rectangular: width × depth × height × quantity. Circular: π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × height × quantity. Order volume equals net volume × (1 + allowance ÷ 100).

Assumptions

  • Dimensions describe the concrete geometry supplied by the user.
  • Quantity is a whole number and allowance is explicit.

Limitations

  • No column sizing, loads, reinforcement, concrete class or capacity check.
  • Footings, beams, caps and pumping loss are excluded unless measured elsewhere.

FAQ

Does this calculator design the column?

No. It calculates volume only from dimensions you already have.

Should reinforcement be deducted?

No automatic deduction is made; the result follows the entered gross concrete geometry.
