Concrete slab guide

Slabs are the simplest case for volume planning: measure the plan area, multiply by thickness, and add a small allowance for waste.

Length and width

Use the full outer dimensions of the slab, including any edge thickening that belongs to the pour.

Thickness

Thickness is the vertical depth of the concrete. Keep the unit consistent with the calculator inputs.

Waste factor

A small allowance helps cover over-pour, uneven formwork, and finish tolerances.

Example

Slab example

A 6 m by 4 m slab with 150 mm thickness has a base volume of 3.6 m3.

With 7 percent waste, the adjusted volume is 3.85 m3.
